Below are four suggested route options for the Kintyre Way with approximate distances for each stage. If you would like any help planning your route please contact us.

Note 1. there is no accommodation in Cloanaig on day 2: a transfer will be required to Clachan or Tarbert

Note 2 . Option 1 is based at Tayinloan and provides transport to the start and from the end of each day's walk. The cost of this is partly offset by the saving on luggage transport and favourable weekly B&B rates

Note 3. Option 2 is the standard Kintyre Way route. As the section Campbeltown to Machrihanish is mostly on road perhaps take the bus to Machrihanish and shorten this last stage

Note 4. Option 3 uses the spur to Bellochantuy to shorten the long Carradale to Campbeltown stage. This avoids the road section on the way to Campbletown. Next morning transfer to Machrihanish to begin the last walk

Note 5. Option 4 includes a rest day at Tayinloan. Take the ferry to the magical island of Gigha
