Walking Mini Break
Scott Walks is a Fixed Price walking mini break, organised in partnership with the Crow Park Hotel in Keswick in the heart of the Lake District. Running throughout autumn and winter, Scott Walks offers a refreshing two night break, allowing for two days of walking in the spectacular Lake District, with an option to extend by a further night if desired. If time is at a premium, Scott Walks are a more accessible 2-day alternative to the Dava Way or the South Loch Ness trail, for visitors arriving from the south.
Walking in the Lake District
The Lake District is a fantastic place for walking. There are literally hundreds of walking options in this mountainous region in North West England. Scott Walks is a selection of ten walks, of varying distance in the vicinity of Keswick, which have been carefully chosen on behalf of EasyWays by a local walking guide. Walk along lakeside trails, forest paths and through tranquil valleys. Take in breath-taking views of rolling hills, quaint villages and clear lakes from fell-side trails. Some of the walks even involve a sail on Derwentwater to reach the start point or from the finish.
All walks are scheduled to coincide with local public bus services around the lakes, to ensure a safe return at the end of the day and the latest weather forecast will be provided during the welcome meeting, to ensure everyone is properly prepared for the days ahead.
Where did the name Scott Walks originate?
A good friend recently had to say goodbye to his charming Golden Labrador, Scott, who had enjoyed 14 glorious years of life, with regular walks across the Lake District in all seasons. His ashes were scattered on top of Skiddaw, a place he particularly loved. Scott Walks is our tribute to the old boy.

Arrive at the Crow Park Hotel (rooms available from 15:00) – if time permits enjoy one of our shorter walking routes or just relax in confines of the beautiful Crow Park Hotel that overlooks Derwentwater. Enjoy an evening meal in the hotel or take the half-mile walk into Keswick where there is a wide selection of pubs, with a wide range of local beers, and restaurants offering good Cumbrian hospitality.
After breakfast, set off on your own choice of Self Guided Walk. You may opt to take the Walkers Special launch across Derwentwater to Hawes End for an easy walk on the Derwentwater Terrace to Cat Fells, enjoying the stunning views over the lake and surrounding fells. Or for a longer, more challenging route, why not venture up to the mountain Blencathra, taking in its 6 peaks, including Skiddaw and Hallsfell Top. With 10 different walks to choose from, combined with the expert local knowledge you will receive at the Welcome meeting, we are sure you will find the walk to suit you. In the evening, enjoy a hearty dinner in the hotel restaurant or choose from a wide selection of bars and restaurants in Keswick.
Once again, set out after breakfast to enjoy all that walking in the Lake District has to offer. Perhaps an easier climb today up Walla Crag, stay on the flat on the Derwentwater Circuit or tackle part of the Cumbria Way. Travel home on completion of walk or stay for a 3rd night.
